The Arkansas Ozarks Outdoor Expo is a unique event that combines outdoor activities with a charitable cause. This weekend, the Mountain Home community will come together to support foster care in Arkansas while enjoying a range of outdoor experiences. Here's a breakdown of what you can expect from this exciting event.
A Community Event with a Cause
The expo is more than just a gathering of outdoor enthusiasts; it's a chance to make a difference. All proceeds from the event will go to Connected Families, an organization dedicated to supporting foster care across Arkansas' 75 counties. This is a great example of how local events can have a significant impact on a broader social issue.
Outdoor Activities Galore
The event kicks off with a fun run and walk along the ASU-Mountain Home trails, offering a great way to explore the area's natural beauty. For those who prefer to stay on two wheels, hiking and cycling trails around the Twin Lakes area will be available. The exhibit hall will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, providing a chance to browse the latest outdoor gear and products.
Local and National Vendors
The expo will feature a mix of local and national outdoor vendors, offering a wide range of products and services. Whether you're looking for the latest hiking gear, cycling accessories, or just some inspiration for your next outdoor adventure, there's something for everyone. The presence of national vendors also highlights the growing popularity of outdoor activities and the expanding market for related products.
Entertainment and Community Spirit
The 7th Street Band from Harrison will provide musical entertainment, adding to the festive atmosphere. The event's timing, from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, suggests a well-planned schedule that allows visitors to enjoy the various activities without rushing. This kind of community event fosters a sense of togetherness and highlights the importance of supporting local initiatives.
